The Ministry of Health issued a special order to take additional measures to protect voters in the local elections in Niksic, scheduled for Sunday, March 14, in order to prevent the transmission and spread of infectious diseases caused by the new coronavirus.

The order applies to voters:

1) which, on the basis of the decision of the sanitary inspection, are placed in self-isolation:

– upon entering Montenegro,

– on suspicion of having been in contact with persons suffering from a new coronavirus or with persons suspected of having contracted the disease,

– because they have a positive test for new coronavirus and have mild or no symptoms.

2) who are in hospital due to infection with a new coronavirus;

3) who are in the hospital for diagnosis, treatment, medical rehabilitation or health care, which is not caused by a new coronavirus infection.

Voters who, based on the decision of the sanitary inspection, placed in self-isolation when entering Montenegro or on suspicion of being in contact with persons suffering from the new coronavirus or with persons suspected of suffering from this disease, may leave the family accommodation or other facility, for the purpose of voting at the polling station, only in the time necessary for voting, with mandatory adherence to all prescribed measures (wearing a protective mask, a distance of at least two meters, hand disinfection, etc.).

Voters who, based on the decision of the sanitary inspection, are placed in self-isolation because they have a positive test result for the new coronavirus and have mild symptoms or no symptoms of the disease can vote by letter in the family accommodation or other facility where they are accommodated. voting must adhere to all prescribed measures (wearing a protective mask, a distance of at least two meters, etc.).

Voters who are hospitalized due to a new coronavirus infection can vote by letter in the health institution where they are hospitalized and are obliged to adhere to all prescribed measures during voting (wearing a protective mask, a distance of at least two meters, hand disinfection, etc.).

Commissioners, when acting on the request for voting by letter of these voters, are obliged to adhere to all prescribed measures (wearing a protective suit, high filtration mask, visor, gloves, adequate footwear or footwear protection, etc.), in accordance with the Recommendations of the State election commissions, and the commissioners, when acting on the request for voting by letter of these voters in the health institution, are obliged to act in accordance with the regulation governing the manner and procedure of implementing measures to prevent and combat nosocomial infections, and according to the instructions of the health worker.

Voters who are in the hospital, for diagnosis, treatment, medical rehabilitation or health care, which is not caused by a new coronavirus infection, can vote by letter in the health institution where they are and are obliged to comply with all prescribed measures during voting ( wearing a protective mask, a distance of at least two meters from each other, hand disinfection, etc.).

The commissioners for voting outside the polling station, when processing the request for voting by letter, as well as when returning to the polling station, are obliged to adhere to all prescribed measures (distance of at least two meters, hand disinfection, wearing a protective mask and gloves and disposable suit covers, hand disinfection and ballot envelopes, etc.)

This order also stipulates that voters who are entered in the voter list for the election of councilors in the Municipal Assembly of Niksic, and have a place of residence in another municipality, are allowed to leave that municipality and enter the Municipality of Niksic, in order to exercise voting rights, in a period of 6 by 9 pm, in accordance with the recommendations of the State Election Commission.
