The drones of the multinational postal company UPS delivered the drugs to the yard of a private house and to a home for the elderly in the USA for the first time, the company announced.
In the summer on Friday in the city of Kerry in North Carolina, UPS’s Flight Forward “beat” competitors in the race for that big market, writes Hina.
Another drone delivered drugs from the CVS pharmacy to patients in a public area within the home for the elderly and infirm.
Packages the size of a smaller shoe box were dropped from drones hovering at a height of six feet.
These are the first such flights performed as part of a program approved by the Federal Air Traffic Administration.
Regulators are still “grinding” the rules according to which drones will operate in American airspace. Precise guidelines are expected in 2021.
