I call on the young people of Nikšić to refrain from any provocations or incidents, especially today, said the President of the Center for Affirmation and Development of Youth, Miloš Mašković

The Center for Affirmation and Development of Youth said that local elections are being held in Niksic today, and that for days now, young people have usually been the main participants in various rallies in support of political parties, as well as incidents.

They added that the local elections in Niksic have been in the focus of the Montenegrin and regional public for weeks, as well as all the events that follow the election process in that city.

Maskovic called on the young people of Niksic to vote freely, and especially to refrain from provocations and incidents today.

“I call on all young people from Niksic to vote freely today, and to go home after the elections and stay there after the election results are announced in order to avoid any possible provocations or incidents that have been simmering in that city in the last few weeks,” said Maskovic.

He added that the choice of the political option of young people should be only their choice.

“I believe that young people will resist pressure and that their voice will truly be their choice based on heritage values and critical thinking. Young people must not be pressured by political options, friends or family. No one has the right to influence them. Blackmail prohibits blackmail and threats to voters, and jail sentences are up to three years. It is also important that young people know that there are non-governmental organizations that monitor the elections in Niksic and to which they can report all election irregularities, “said Maskovic.
