At the traditional auction in the American city of Scottsdale, the latest Corvette C8 Stingray was sold for three million dollars, although its market value starts from 60,000 dollars.

The owner is Rick Hendrick, director of the company “Hendrick Automotive Group”, who stated that he will not drive this car at all, reports Auto Bild.

He decided to exhibit the new Corvette Stingray model at the Hendrick’s Heritage Center in Charlotte, where there are another 120 copies of the icon of American roads.

Auto Bild reports that this institution has gained cult status among American car lovers, as there are Corvettes driven by King Leopold III of Belgium, singer Roy Orbison, as well as former Mexican President Gustavo Diaz Ordaz.

Official production of the Corvette C8 Stingray begins next month, and in early March it begins the process of delivering the vehicle to new owners.

Rick Hendrick said that about 1,000 copies of this car were reserved at his Chevrolet dealership, and that they had to suspend reservations due to increased demand.
